Love Is In The Air - Planning Ahead For Valentines Day

Love Is In The Air - Planning Ahead For Valentines Day

Valentine’s Day is big business in the UK. Last year we spent over £1,400million on our heart’s desires. Our favourite activities by far were delightful dinners and wonderful weekends away.

A lot of your clients will want to look their best for their romantic rendezvous, so it’s important that you’re ready to help them look and feel fantastic .

Here are some ideas for you to help give your loyal customers something extra this Valentine’s Day and still have room for new clients.

Sharing the love

It’s on everyone’s mind, so why not add to the loving feeling with some perfect pampering offers for your best customers? Send them an invitation full of hearts and flowers for indulgent treats right up to the Big Day itself. Meet new people by inviting them to bring along a friend. You can even send them home with a recipe for a chocolate face mask.

Generous gifts

Make sure partners can be pampered too with promotional gift cards. You can even team up with nearby complementary businesses to offer a complete package of delights.

You could even help to make life a little easier for everyone by adding cleaning companies, babysitting services, or dog walkers. Then everyone can relax and enjoy those special moments together.

Healthy hearts

Heart disease is the single biggest cause of death for women around the world. If you haven’t found a special cause for 2020 yet, you could consider raising funds for the British Heart Foundation in the run up to Valentine’s Day.

You could focus on beating stress by running sessions in your salon with yoga instructors, health and wellness specialists and offering invigorating herbal teas and sugar free treats.

The charm challenge

Ask you clients to share where they’re going and what they’re doing for Valentine’s Day and offer a prize for the most romantic. Or, for all those pet lovers out there, ask them to send you pictures of their feline friends or canine charmers with a Valentine’s theme. If you’re sharing on social media, don’t forget to add a hashtag, so everyone can join in the fun.

Treats with your treatments

Along with every treatment until 14 February, you could offer your customers red cakes, biscuits or mocktails. It’s a good reason to keep posting on social media – you can even ask for love-themed suggestions.

If you don’t want food or drink in your salon, you could team up with your local independent coffee shop and offer a discount voucher for something lovely.

Keep people interested

Plan your activities well in advance and give people time to share the news and book their treatments. If you still have appointments available by 10 February, get ready for a final excellent offer to bring in those last-minute bookings.

Talk to a Genie if you would like help to arrange emails, create promotional gift cards or to keep your appointments up to date.
